Partiz is a side project consisting of a team of three members, including a developer, a designer, and a marketer. The project was initiated with the objective of launching quickly with minimal resources within a short timeframe.

Problem
Improvement 1. Exclude the Chat feature from the MVP.
To streamline the initial release and minimize potential disruptions during mini-game sessions, we have decided to exclude the Chat feature from the MVP specification and redefined the minimum functionality for the initial launch.
Improvement 2. Improve user flow of selecting and starting a game.
We introduced the "Selected Game" UI in the player view, allowing only the host to choose and start the game. However, considering offline game sessions where players communicate, the "Selected Game" feature was unnecessary and disrupted the game starting flow. Therefore, we removed this feature to implement a smoother flow for the host to start the game.
To reduce confusion caused by excessive use of point colors, we minimized the use of colors in the design.
The player view
→ Additionally, in the player view, I added an informative banner to indicate when the host is in the process of selecting a game.
Result
Goal: Shorten the time it takes to reach the start of the game
Achieved: Reduced average by over 3 seconds

📈 Data Analysis / User Feedback
① Data Analysis
In the Party Mode, the gameplay is designed to be smooth with a minimum of 2 or more users gathered. However, after the release, we observed that the app was more frequently used by single users rather than groups of 2 or more. Interestingly, these single users had shorter app usage times compared to the majority of users who played in groups.
② User Feedback
During Party Mode, there was a problem where if a user switched to another app or briefly left their seat, it became challenging for the remaining players to continue the game among themselves.
① Solo mode
Partiz has recognized that many users enjoy playing alone, and to cater to the satisfaction of solo players, they have introduced a Solo Mode. Now, individuals can enjoy various game experiences that suit their preferences while immersing themselves in the excitement of Partiz games.
Join Partiz and experience thrilling game adventures whether you play with friends or enjoy solo play.
Key screens
a. Adjustment of home screen
With the introduction of Solo Mode, the user flow will be updated. On the home screen, you'll find two options: "Solo Mode" and "Party Mode," replacing the previous "Create Party" and "Join Party" choices.
b. Structure of Solo Mode
I designed the Dashboard screen to be concise and user-friendly by including only key elements, avoiding potential confusion that can arise from overwhelming content.

c. Start a game
When users tap on the (collapsed) game card list, it takes them to the game detail screen. The expanded card component provides game features, a description, and a start button.
Below that, the rankings of the top players are displayed, aiming to ignite users' competitive drive and encourage them to engage in gameplay.
d. Recharge currency/energy
In the [Shop] where currency is obtained, I added badges to encourage purchases.
Instead of using the same badge for all options, I used different colors specifically for the option with the most cost-effective price to incentivize its purchase.
I also utilized colors that are distinct from the default UI components throughout, drawing attention to the badges and creating visual appeal.
e. Get rewards
After each game, players are rewarded with in-game rewards. These rewards are displayed on the home screen upon returning from a game, encouraging players to continue playing by engaging them with the prospect of earning rewards in subsequent games.
f. Share my score
After the app launch, we noticed that many users were taking screenshots of their scores and sharing them with their friends. Recognizing the viral potential of such sharing, I added a share icon to the leaderboard screen to make it easy for users to share their scores.
Additionally, I created custom-designed images for each game, which can be automatically attached to the shared posts on social media accounts. This ensures that the shared posts stand out and catch the attention of others, further enhancing the viral impact and promoting the app through user-generated content.

② Indication of Player Activation/Deactivation
When users are temporarily unavailable in the party lounge, such as when they switch to other apps or briefly leave their seats, it becomes challenging to proceed with the game.
To address this, I designed the system to deactivate these users, allowing the remaining players to continue the game. Therefore, I indicate which users are in an inactive or active state.
③ Categorization by Game Types
I have categorized game icons, badges, and other visual elements using distinct colors that correspond to the characteristics of each game. This color-based categorization helps users easily identify and explore similar games. Our objective is to enhance game engagement by facilitating the discovery of similar games, thereby encouraging users to play more games and spend extended time on the app.
The above improvements were developed within a period of two weeks with the goal of increasing the time spent using the app by single users.
Unfortunately, the project was temporarily suspended due to internal circumstances of the team, so we have not yet confirmed the improvement results🥲
However, beyond verifying hypotheses with UT, I was able to experience designing improvements based on data and feedback from actual users🚀🌟
